The most northerly of the six towns, Tunstall pairs honest, affordable housing with quick escapes: ten minutes one way is the M6, ten minutes the other is the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The high street has kept more of its independent shops than most, and Tunstall Park — with its lake, clock tower and floral hall — is one of the finest Victorian parks in the city.
Living there
Two- and three-bed terraces dominate around Victoria Park Road and America Street, with semis towards Sandyford and Goldenhill for families wanting gardens and driveways. It's a genuine community town: people know their neighbours here.
